They are also a great way to start networking early, gain good work experience, and practice working in the golf industry and seeing if you enjoy it. First lets talk about why the PGM program requires 5 summers of internships. They require this because it is suppose to help you gain valuable work experience. By being exposed to actually getting out and working on a golf course you will get a good taste of what you will need to do throughout your career.
